Smiling Mind / App and Web App
Smiling Mind is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to providing accessible training in Mindfulness Meditation. Spark was engaged to develop the program as a free online tool and iPhone app.
Strategy
Spark worked closely with the Smiling Mind team and design partner – Cornwell from the project initiation through to delivery. Our process included a lengthy planning stage involving wireframes, design reviews and technical/functional specifications.
Deliverables
Spark developed the website and app stretching the capabilities of WordPress and JavaScript to their limits. We created a unique audio listening player in JavaScript that tracks every meditation listen and developed an API that connects the WordPress back-end to the IOS app.
Results
The Smiling Mind app and website launched to the public in October 2012. Since launch the app has been downloaded millions of times, and received average app store ratings of 4.5.
