PUMA Australia, recognising the diverse support for football across major Australian codes, wanted to showcase their sponsorship of athletes and teams in AFL, NRL, and A-League

Spark Digital developed an engaging and informative Australian football microsite for PUMA to promote its sponsored athletes and teams across AFL, NRL, and A-League for Australian football fans, particularly those interested in AFL, NRL, and A-League, including ‘football crazy kids’ from various regions, including remote areas like the Northern Territory.

Leveraging, Spark created a microsite to sit in the football vertical, which included social media integration (#PUMAFooty), monthly competitions for fans to enter, insights on local and international PUMA sponsored athletes and teams, promoted news and product information.

The site was built on the WordPress CMS, allowing PUMA staff to update content easily and quickly. Following the launch, via leveraging social media word-of-mouth, the site traffic doubled from 5,000 to 10,000 unique views in its second month, tripling competition entries and exceeding KPIs on target locations, reaching ‘football crazy kids’ from as far as the Northern Territory.
