Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension (PAH) is a debilitating disease that creates an increase of blood pressure in the heart and lungs leading to shortness of breath, leg swelling and other symptoms. PAH can be a severe disease with a markedly decreased exercise tolerance and heart failure.
Strategy
GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) offers treatment medicines for this disease and along with medicine, exercise is often prescribed by doctors to offer patients a better quality of life. To aid in this a walking fitness app was planned.
Deliverables
A mobile iPhone and Android app was designed and developed by Spark Digital. The app allows users to plan a walking exercise routine, track progress over time and can be used both indoor or outdoors. The app also gives patients more information on PAH and offers assistance in living with the disease.
