ADF Member and Family Transition Guide App

The Australian Defence Force – JTA (Joint Transition Authority) is a newly created organisation established to enhance the experience of Defence Force members and their families as they transition to civilian life. They partnered with Spark to transform their existing resource, a PDF, into an app that offers easy access to information, helping users feel supported during this transitional period.

Recognising the unique and often nonlinear nature of transition journeys, we reorganised the app’s structure to improve usability, incorporating a bottom navigation tab bar and native menu for streamlined navigation. Designed for both iOS and Android devices, the app features carefully curated content that reflects updates to services, policies, and requirements for ADF personnel and their families. To ensure the app remains current, we implemented WordPress as the content management system, enabling the client to make real-time updates without the delays associated with submitting new app builds.

The ADF community now has easier access to essential resources through the ADF Member and Family Transition Guide app. Key screens are thoughtfully organised to provide a clear and intuitive user flow. The app features search functionality, quick access to JTA Centres, and details about upcoming seminars. By offering a flexible and accessible resource, the app addresses a critical need for ADF personnel and their families transitioning to civilian life.
